The Do’s and Don’ts of Waiting for a Tow Truck
You knew you should have had that transmission checked out a long time ago, but you kept putting it off. Now it’s 3 am and you are on the side of the road, waiting for the tow truck to come and tow your car to Twin Transmission for repairs. No matter what the issue is with your transmission, waiting for a tow truck can be dangerous if you don’t follow some simple safety tips. With that in mind, read on below for a few of the top do’s and don’ts of waiting on the tow truck to come tow you in.
DO Pull Over and Out of Traffic
The very first thing you should do is pull over and out of traffic if at all possible. If you can drive the car then do that, if not, try to push it as far out of traffic as you can get it so traffic isn’t blocked and you don’t run the risk of causing an accident before the tow truck arrives.
DON’T Accept Rides from Someone You Don’t Know
The days when you could trust just about everyone is long gone and it’s important not to accept rides from strangers. You have already called for a tow truck, wait for them to get there and be careful who you talk too. Though there may be good Samaritans out there, you never know who is going to have bad intentions. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
These are just a couple of the do’s and don’ts of waiting for a tow truck to come get your car if your transmission fails you. In part two of this, we will consider more.
